Find Your Perfect Fit

Before you begin, you will need:
  • Your Guy’s/Gal’s Guide to the Right Size
  • A cloth measuring tape and pencil
  • A friend to help you measure

For accurate measurements, measure over your undergarments and keep
the tape measure parallel to the floor. If you prefer to measure over your
clothing, please be aware that your measurements may not be as precise.

Disclaimer: Sizes vary between manufacturers and stores. If you are familiar with
a certain designer or like to shop at a certain store, please make note of this information
in your guide. It is always best to use the size charts from individual stores and
manufacturers when available. The information listed below is for reference only.
Trying on garments before purchasing is recommended. GGRS Concepts
is not responsible for clothing or accessories that do not fit.

How to Measure Guys & Gals

Height:

Standing barefoot with normal posture, measure
from the top of your head down to your feet.

Head:

Measure an inch above your eyebrows. Wrap
the tape measure around your head, keeping
the tape parallel to the floor.

Neck (Guys):

Measure around the base of your neck just below
your Adam’s apple. Add a half-inch to your measurement for comfort when shopping
for dress shirts.

Over Arm (Guys):

With arms at your sides, measure around the
widest part of the upper arms and shoulders,
keeping the tape measure parallel to the floor.

Bust (Gals):

With your arms relaxed at your sides, wrap the
tape measure around the fullest part of your
bust. Make sure the tape measure is parallel
to the floor and under your arms.

Chest (Guys):

With your arms relaxed at your sides, measure
around the fullest part of your chest. Make sure
the tape measure is over your shoulder blades,
parallel to the floor and under your arms.
When shopping for jackets, add an inch to
your measurement if you want a looser fit.

Natural Waist:

To find the natural crease of your waist, bend
to one side. Measure around your waist at this
point, making sure to keep the tape measure
parallel to the floor. Do not suck in your
stomach when taking this measurement.

Below Natural Waist
(low waist):

If you tend to wear pants below your natural
waist, measure at the height you normally
wear your pants.

Hips (Gals):

Standing with your feet 6" apart, measure around the fullest part of your rear and hips. Make sure the tape measure is parallel to the floor.
(Approx 8"down from your natural waist)

Torso:

Starting at the top of your shoulder, run the tape measure down across the fullest part of your bust, through the center of your crotch and back up to the same shoulder making a full circle.

Sleeve:

Place you hand on your hip so your arm is bent at 90 degrees. Measure from the middle of the back of your neck, across your shoulder, down to your elbow, and down to your wrist.

Wrist:

Measure around the widest part of your wrist.

Upper Arm:

With arms at your sides, measure around the
widest part of the upper arm and shoulders,
in a complete circle, keeping the tape measure
parallel to the floor. Use this measurement
when shopping for suits and sport coats.

Inseam:

Measure a pair of pants that fit you well.
Measure from the inside crotch to the hem of
pants. If a friend is helping you measure, have
them measure from your crotch to your ankle.

Rise:

Measure from the top of your waistband
down to your crotch.

Thigh:

Measure around the fullest part of your thigh.

Coat & Dress
Length (Gals):

Measure from the top of the shoulder
down to the hem of the coat or dress.

Skirt Length
(Gals):

Measure from the waistband of the skirt
down to the hem.

 Bra Fitting

In order to know your correct bra size, it is important to find the measurements of your band
and cup size. Please follow the steps below so you can mark your guide correctly. Make sure
before you start measuring you are wearing your most comfortable, non-padded bra
(not a sports bra). It is important to keep the tape measure parallel to the floor.
To get a more accurate measurement, we recommend having a friend help you. **

**Note: When using this measuring system and your cup size is above a D, results tend to be less accurate.
You may still use this system to measure, however please be aware your resulting measurements can lead to
a bra that does not fit properly. It would be best to visit a professional bra specialist to get the most accurate fit.
Additionally, cup sizes may differ between manufacturers. Cup sizes may be lettered differently.

BAND SIZE (Fig. A)
STEP 1: With a soft fabric measuring tape, measure around your rib cage directly under your bust. Expel the air from your lungs in order to get the smallest measurement. If you get a fractional measurement, round to the nearest whole.
(Ex. 29 ½" round up to 30" or Ex. 29 3/8" round down to 29")

If the measurement is even, add 4 to that number. If the
measurement is odd, add 5 to that number. The resulting
number is your band size. Bras are sold in even numbers.

  Example:             30" + 4" = 34"
                                           or
                                29" + 5" = 34"           34" = Band Size

CUP SIZE (Fig. B)
STEP 2: With your arms at your side, standing up straight, wrap the tape measure around the fullest part of your bust. Make sure the tape measure is parallel to the floor, under your arms, and is fairly loose. If your measurement is fractional, round to the nearest whole.

CALCULATING YOUR BRA SIZE
Subtract your band measurement (STEP 1) from your cup measurement (STEP 2).
The resulting number is your cup size. Each inch difference represents a cup size. See chart below

Example:  Bust Measurement = 37", Band Measurement = 34"
                   There is a 3” difference (37” – 34” = 3”).

Cup Size = C   |  Bra Size = 34C

Helpful Tips:

• Bras tend to stretch over time. Make sure your bra fits firmly on the loosest hook when brand new.

• You should be able to fit 1 finger under the band of your bra. If not, the band is too small. Go up one band size.

• The band should sit lower in the back. If your band rides up in the back adjust the straps
or try a smaller band size.

• Bra straps should not dig into your shoulders. Straps that are too loose usually indicate
that your cup size is too big. Try going down one cup size.

• The gore, the center panel between the cups, should lie flat against your chest.

• Your breasts should not bulge out of the cups. If they do, go up one cup size.

 Suits & Sport Coats

Men’s suits are sized according to the following measurements:
• Over Arm
• Chest
• Waist
• Inseam

Jackets

  • Jacket sizes contain a number and a description. For example, 44R or 44 Regular.

  • The number is your chest measurement. However, you should choose a jacket one size larger if your over arm measurement, minus 7”, is greater than your chest measurement.
You can also choose a larger size if you prefer a looser fitting coat.

  • For the description, consult the following chart.
Description
Height

Short
5'5" - 5'7"
Regular
5'8" - 5'10"
Long
5'11" - 6'2"
Extra Long
6'3" - 6'5"
  • The above advice assumes a body type with average proportions. Consult your local department store, suit specialty store, or tailor for a custom measurement if you are uncertain which jacket size will fit you best.

Pants
  • Suit jackets are usually paired with pants that are 6” less than the jacket size. This is
called the drop. For example, a 42R suit jacket would be paired with size 36 pants.
If you require a different drop, talk to the salesperson about suit styles with larger
or smaller drops. Keep in mind that suit pants are usually made to be custom tailored
and can be adjusted by one or two inches when you purchase them.

  • Most suit pants are sold in one length and need to be tailored to your appropriate
    inseam measurement.

Tips:
Wider ring bands will fit tighter. If you are purchasing a wide band, you might want to increase the ring size

Fingers tend to swell during the day and
shrink in the cold. To ensure that your ring
fits comfortably at all times, it is best to
measure your fingers at the end of the
day and when they are warm

 Belt Size Guide

Helpful Tips:

  • Your belt size is not your waist size. There are two methods for determining your belt size.

  • To use your waistband measurement, add two inches (if this measurement is odd, round
up to the next even number). This is your belt size.

  • To use a belt you already own, lay the belt out flat. Using a measuring tape, measure
from the point of where the buckle meets the belt to the hole that fits you best.
Don’t measure the actual buckle. This is your belt size.
